Review

Alpha Prime is a standard first person shooter with amazingly detailed graphics and rich sci-fi environments. The flaw of the game when is was originally released was that enemies never missed when shooting at you nor the damage was reduced. So, it was only natural that you could not possibly defeat the hundreds of them. But not to worry any more. The game has been patched and there is absolutely no reason why you should not play this game as it is a great sci-fi fps. I also recommend to play the game at the easy difficulty level where it is actually normal difficulty (yes, after the overall difficulty reduction in the patch).

In the game you will get to fight with both the half-crazed workers on Alpha Prime due to their exposure to hubbardium and the working robots. You are also going to ride a buggy at some point in the game in order to travel to a remote mining site on the surface of the planet. You must also not forget to replenish your oxygen from the dispensers when you find yourseld in low oxygen areas or outside the mining complex. If you’re looking for some nice fps game then Alpha Prime is quite a unique and underrated game that you will absolutely enjoy.

Plot

The State Business Federation has discovered an asteroid dubbed Alpha Prime with rich deposits of hubbardium, which is used as fuel in interstellar ships. During the mining operations, the miners began to go mad due to exposure to hubbardium. The State Business Federation decides that mining the hubbardium is too dangerous, and seal off the asteroid.

The protagonist, Arnold Weiss, is recruited by an old friend, Livia, to rescue their mutual friend, Warren Reynolds, who was trapped on the asteroid when it was sealed off. Arnold grudgingly accepts, and they head off in a ship called the Artemis. The ship is disabled by a mine before they reach the asteroid, however, and only Arnold and Livia survive. Arnold gets into an escape pod and lands on Alpha Prime alone.
