Lifeless planet is yet another unique game which is difficult to categorise into any game genre. The broadly used term for this game is walking simulator and it does describe it as such quite closely since there is a great deal of walking you do in this game. So, what’s the goal of a walking simulation game? Obviously you need to find your way or the path to the end of the game. Although in this game this is not terribly difficult to do it could be a bit more challenging.
This game could also be described as an adventure. If there were more puzzles in it or more challenging puzzles it would fall completely into the adventure genre, but puzzles are pretty basic and they are there mostly to progress the story or maybe delay the game a bit from constant walking than to pause a real challenge.
It could also be called an action game since there are many situations where the player must use some skill in jumping or correctly landing on the proper area.
It is generally a short game but it does manage to capture you and literally take you to another planet which is a strange world entangled with the hero’s own life and experiences.
This game is a good attempt and worths you spending some money on it not for any other reason but to allow the developers to prepare for their next more polished production.
